Our Mission
It is our wish and aim for you to experience the simple joy of being able to communicate in a another language.
We hope you will be able to step into another world as you enter the classroom here and learn about our cultures as you teach us about yours. It’s also an opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and just find yourself in a new situation. Also you will be able to learn about yourself and your culture by expressing yourself in English, and to expand your horizons as you learn about other cultures through the medium of English.
In 1995 my father came to Japan to build my English classroom for me. He is not a carpenter – in fact, at the time he was a retired Mathematics teacher. But he is a hard working and handy guy who in the early days when he and my mom had little money, had built furniture, and had added on several rooms to our house including bedrooms for my sister and I and a tall-ceilinged family room with a fireplace. So I hoped he would be up to a new challenge – building from scratch from the ground up in a foreign country! And he was! Yeah – thank you, dad!! We had a Japanese construction company helping with the paperwork, a Canadian friend of my father’s, and we had lots of curious friends come and help on the project which took 3 months to complete.
We have students from and around Gosen city that have very different backgrounds but one wish, be able to express themselves in English the best way possible! And Angel English is here to help them and help you! We like to create a very friendly environment when teaching at Angel English, so we serve coffee and tea during class. We like to have some events throughout the year, not only for the kids but for adults as well so that they can be comfortable talking in English in any situation.
